The Particle Astrophysics Division of the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences focuses on exploring the physics around black holes and neutron stars, the origin, acceleration and propagation of cosmic rays, and the inflation and expansion history of the universe.
We are committed to developing China's next-generation large scientific facilities, and have successfully commissioned flagship facilities such as the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), the Gravitational Wave High-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor (GECAM), and the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO).
Currently, we are constructing future facilities including the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry (eXTP), the High Energy cosmic-Radiation Detection facility (HERD), the Large Array of imaging atmospheric Cherenkov Telescope (LACT), the Ali CMB Polarization Telescope (AliCPT), and the High-energy Underwater Neutrino Telescope (HUNT). These facilities will play a vital role in advancing our understanding of high-energy astrophysics and cosmology.
We are seeking both tenure-track and tenured faculty members whose expertise aligns with the scientific goals of these facilities. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to their construction, operation, and/or the analysis and interpretation of data, and to lead research teams that will fully harness the scientific potential of these large facilities.
The Institute invites applications for multiple positions at all career stages. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until qualified candidates are identified. A single PDF should be submitted to hfeng@ihep.ac.cn containing a CV, a list of publications, and a research plan, for full consideration. Shortlisted candidates will be requested to provide three letters of reference.
